Quito will be promoted in the Anato 2019 Tourist Showcase
One of the purposes of this prestigious international event is to publicize the main tourist offer of the city, to extend the average stay of the visitor and increase spending during their stay in the city
Quito will participate in the thirty-eighth edition of the renowned ANATO Fair, one of the most important events in tourism in Colombia that brings together in each event, the entire range of tourism goods and services from more than 35 countries and the host country.
The event will have an appointment from February 27 to March 1, 2019 in the city of Bogotá-Colombia, in which Quito Turismo will maintain around 30 appointments with the main tour operators and media of the neighboring country, in order to finalize alliances important with the Colombian and international market.
One of the purposes of Quito Tourism in this prestigious international event, is to publicize the main tourist offer of the city, to extend the average stay of the visitor and increase spending during their stay in the city.
The tourism promotion strategies implemented by Quito Turismo are aimed at objective markets, that is, neighboring countries located 2 or 3 hours away and international markets located more than 4 hours away. This classification of destinations will allow promoting the different tourist offers at a regional level.
Within the Sustainable Tourism Development Strategic Plan of Quito 2016 - 2021 several axes are contemplated to consolidate the city's tourism promotion, such as connectivity, marketing, and high impact products, in addition to the principles of work, sustainability , innovation among others.
As part of the activities that Quito Tourism will accomplish in Colombia, the "WorkShop Rema", considered the second most important tourist and travel event in this country, that gathers more than 600 visitors and constitutes the platform to form strategic alliances and of business with industry leaders such as airlines, hotels, operators, destinations, among others.
For Quito Turismo, this contest constitutes the base to promote the tourism of the city to different destinations and to combine commercial actions that project positively to the capital in the Colombian market.
This market is of great importance for tourism in Quito, since according to statistics from the Institutional System of Tourist Indicators, this place constitutes the second issuer of tourists to the city, with an estimated total of 50,194 Colombian visitors that represented 8% of the participation of the total in 2018.
