Great participation of Peru in WTM Latin America
PROMPERU set up a stand where it promoted mainly Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Ancash, Amazonas and Lima
Peru had an important participation in the WTM Latin America 2019. The event took place from April 2 to 4 at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo, where the country was able to expose its tourism potential before important businessmen and international authorities. Twenty Peruvian companies participated as co-exhibitors that showed their wide selection of destinations, services, tourism and culinary infrastructure.
Among the regions that exhibited were Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Ancash, Amazonas and the capital, Lima.
With direct flights from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Foz do Iguaçu and Porto Alegre to its capital, Lima, Peru, it reinforces its accessibility and becomes an excellent option for the Brazilian to take advantage of the holidays and, even, the ends of week.
"The main objective of being in WTM Latin America has been to strengthen the positioning of the destination in the local market, by offering a relational platform between the Peruvian companies that participated as co-exhibitors and the commercial chain present at the event. All have had very good results at the fair, "said Liz Chuecas Gatti, Coordinator of the Latin American Market of PROMPERu.
The official added: "The arrival of Brazilian tourists with a total of 174,000 visitors grew by 2% in 2018. We had already managed to grow 18% in 2017. Despite the crisis in the Brazilian channel, we continue to grow."
"For us Latin America is the main issuing market with a total of 60% of visitors, in the region the main issuing country is Chile, we are interested in all the neighboring markets not only to visit us, but also to promote ourselves jointly in countries of other continents, in fact we have an intense agenda with the members of the Pacific Alliance presenting us as a block ".
"We are working with the private sector to improve hotel capacity and achieve a varied offer with affordable prices in our main destinations."
