Brazil intensifies promotion to attract Peruvian tourists
Embratur, together with the Trade Promotion Sector of the Brazilian Embassy in Peru and the Discover Brazil Committee, promotes one of the largest tourism workshops for the country's trade
More than 400 tour operators and travel agents from Peru participated, this Thursday (25), the 7th Workshop Sensational Brazil, promoted by Embratur (Brazilian Institute of Tourism), Commercial Promotion Sector of the Brazilian Embassy in the country and Committee Discover Brazil.
The objective of the workshop is to publicize in Peru the Brazilian tourist destinations among professionals in the sector, especially Bahia and Santa Catarina, as well as the cities of Bento Gonçalves, Foz do Iguaçu, Gramado and Salvador, which sent representatives to present attractions. Business roundtables, seminars and distribution of information material on products from Brazil were held.
During her presentation, the general coordinator of Embratur's Tourism and Competitive Intelligence, Leila Holsbach, presented a panorama of international tourism in Brazil, focusing on the profile of the Peruvian visitor, and highlighted CONMEBOL Copa America 2019, the main tournament of men's football among South American teams. The competition, which runs from June 14 to July 7, will be hosted by the South American Football Confederation. Brazil receives the competition for the fifth time in history.
"This event is one of the biggest tourism promotion in Brazil in Peru and an opportunity for closer bilateral relations. About 120 thousand Peruvians travel to Brazil every year. It is expected that the number of Peruvian tourists in Brazil will increase in 2019, especially for the football tournament, together with the actions developed by Embratur in this market, which is so important for the development of tourism in our country, "said Leila Holsbach.
Currently, there are 188 direct monthly flights between Lima and the Brazilian cities of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre and Foz do Iguaçu, with a capacity to carry more than 38 thousand people per month.
Joint action - Embratur and the Discover Brazil Committee will carry out a campaign to promote Brazilian destinations and products in movie theaters during the opening week of the movie "Avengers: Ultimatum" in Peru. The advertising spots, promoting the cities of Bento Gonçalves and Rio de Janeiro, will be projected in movie theaters of the main shopping centers of Lima. The campaign is part of the strategy of publicizing Brazilian attractions for the final public.
