Sectur and the government of Hidalgo work to promote the Magic Towns Fair
The first edition of this event will be a commercial exchange platform and a promotional window for the 121 locations that are part of the successful program
The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico made a working tour of the state of Hidalgo, whose capital, Pachuca, will host the first edition of the new version of this inclusive event and with access for the entire public.
The private sector will be invited to participate and support as business partners, since their collaboration will reduce the production cost for the hosts.
"The Magic Towns Tianguis is the evolution of the National Fair of Magic Towns to become a world-class event that consolidates as a benchmark in the country's tourism scene, as a platform for commercial exchange and a window of promotion for the 121 locations throughout the republic that are part of this successful program, "said Miguel Torruco Marqués, Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico.
The official noted the previous this afternoon, in Pachuca, Hidalgo, where he went to, together with the governor of the entity, Omar Fayad Meneses, announce to the media that the fairground of this city will be the headquarters of the first edition of the Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos, which will take place from the 24th to the 27th of October.
He also stated that the program of Pueblos Mágicos continues to be a priority for the Tourism Secretariat of the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, so it will follow up on all the initiatives and projects that have been developed.
"We are working to find new growth and support options for Magical Towns, linked with other dependencies and with the private sector," said the federal Tourism Secretary.
He added that, likewise, Sectur federal works jointly with the government of the state of Hidalgo so that the Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos is an event that takes care of its quality and its profile of inclusive meeting and access to the public.
Torruco Marqués explained that the conditions of participation in this first Magic Villages Tianguis will remain the same: it will continue as a totally free event for the 121 Magic Towns, with spaces approved in dimensions and image for all.
Finally, he thanked the hosts of this year, Governor Omar Fayad Meneses and Secretary of Tourism of Hidalgo, Eduardo Javier Baños Gómez, for all their enthusiasm and support, with which there is certainty that this first edition will be a great success .
"Once again we will invite the private sector related to our program, to participate and support us as business partners; their participation will allow to reduce the cost of production for our hosts, "said the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico.
In this regard, it was also reported that representatives of CREA, the company that produces the event, met with authorities of the Tourism Ministry of Hidalgo and jointly agreed to look for other suppliers to have a point of comparison and analyze better prices and conditions.
Currently, the state of Hidalgo has a lodging infrastructure composed of 673 hotels, totaling 14 thousand 252 rooms; 49 percent are in categories of three to five stars.
According to preliminary estimates, last year they received the visit of two million 686 thousand tourists, almost entirely of national origin. And, just for the concept of lodging, they registered an economic income of thousand 278 million pesos, with an average occupation of 47.2 percent.
During this work tour through the state of Hidalgo, Torruco Marqués also visited the Magic Town of Real del Monte, where he toured the English Pantheon, the Football Museum (Chaflán), the municipal trail and the Hiloche forest.
During the course of the day, it was detailed that the Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos will have several exhibition areas:
The Main Pavilion will have 121 stands of at least 18 square meters each.
Commercial Pavilion It will be the space destined for the one to one exchange, where the most important Receptive Operators with a specialized product will be present.
International Pavilion Area to install guest countries that strengthen the tourist offer of the Magical Towns Tianguis and that allows to strengthen the relations with nations interested in adopting this Program and adapting it to its tourism policies.
Artisan Pavilion. The craft offer of the meeting will be complemented with the invitation to Fonart to participate, as every year, with a craft corridor that represents the whole country.
Scenario of Cultural Activities. As in previous years, the members of the Magical Towns will be invited to participate with artistic representations, such as music, dances and stage performances, among others.
Gastronomic Zone. There will also be spaces for traditional cooks from all over the country, so that within the framework of the event a National Meeting of Traditional Mexican Cuisine will be held. Also, there will be places for restaurants of contemporary national food, that present their proposals of the new Mexican cuisine.
Academic Days. During the first day of activities a program will be carried out with specialists in different topics, with the objective of maintaining the training and exchange of best practices.
The presentation was attended by the Tourism Secretary of Campeche, Jorge Manos Esparragoza, as president of the Union of Secretaries of Tourism of Mexico (Asetur) as special guests; Francisco Hernández Alonso, president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac); Alan Vera Olivares, president of Canirac Pachuca and Eduardo Javier Baños Gómez, secretary of Tourism of the Government of Hidalgo, as well as the municipal president of the six Magical Towns of the entity and the presidents of the Citizen Committees of the Magical Towns of Hidalgo.
