The president of Embratur, Gilson Machado Neto, presented this week in London, during an event for professionals of the sector, the new measures adopted to stimulate tourism in Brazil. The presentation for investors and exhibitors was held at The Meetings Show, one of the largest events in the industry in the UK, with more than 4,500 professionals from around the world.

"It was an opportunity to show the world the new measures already adopted by the Government of President Jair Bolsonaro, who sees tourism as a strategic sector for the generation of jobs and income," said Machado Neto.

In a meeting with executives from the Norwegian and Virgin Atlantic airlines, the president of Embratur detailed the recent opening of the Brazilian market to foreign companies, increasing the possibility of new investments and greater competition in the sector.

Virgin Atlantic executives have posted details of a new company flight on the London-Sao Paulo route planned for 2020. The company is currently negotiating partnerships for domestic connections. Norwegian also presented the passenger profile of the London-Rio de Janeiro flight, which began in March this year: Brits (39%), Europeans (31%) and Brazilians (20%).

During a meeting with the Latin American Travel Association (LATA) general manager, Danny Callaghan, the president of Embratur, discussed ways to strengthen the relationship with international entities in the sector to intensify tourism promotion in Brazil. "These partnerships are fundamental to expand our presence abroad," said Gilson Neto.
