The World Meetings Forum takes place in Los Cabos
The forum that favors connections, generates business opportunities and brings knowledge closer with a program of inspiring master conferences with authentic leaders of the sector
The seventh edition of the World Meetings Forum is held in Los Cabos, one of the most important international events in the meetings tourism industry. It is based at the Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos.
Rafael Hernández, founder and Chairman of the event shares that the three factors that mark the election of a destination for an incentive trip are: political stability and security (66%), value for money (65%) and quality of service ( 59%), according to the report "Trends Watch Report 2019", by Rob Davidson and Alistair Turner, "this makes it necessary for us as businessmen to organize ourselves to strengthen the areas that are in our hands, for this reason it is essential to provide continuity to the promotion of meetings tourism in our country ".
According to the Ministry of Tourism, more than 265,000 annual events of all sizes are held in Mexico, which gather around 29 million participants, who generate an economic spill of 25 billion dollars and 29 million quarter-nights. per year, equivalent to 21% of employment in the country, all of the above represents 1.8% of the National Gross Domestic Product and more than one million jobs.
Hernández said: "this is proof that the industry has reached maturity, positioning itself at the core of tourism as one of the main engines of development and as an important generator of income, employment and investment, for this reason it is the responsibility of all agents of the sector to continue with the impulse of the chain of value, in Mexico and the rest of the continent, and to serve as an ecosystem that generates business for the Latin American countries ".
The Secretary of Tourism Economy and Sustainability of BCS, Luis Araiza, said to celebrate that Los Cabos has been chosen as the host destination of the WMF, since it represents an important contribution for the promotion and consolidation of the industry that carries out more than 6,500 meetings with an attendance of 300 thousand participants per year,
At the inauguration were present Rodrigo Esponda, director of the Tourism Trust of Los Cabos (Fiturca); Carolina Pérez, tourism representative of the Dominican Republic in Mexico; Leonardo Mena, Sales Director of Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos; Daniel Navarro, commercial manager of the national market RCD; Daniel Caraza, director of Mexico Incentives & Meetings; and Susana Martín, director of Ventas Questro Golf, among others.
"Event tourism entrepreneurs are organized to promote promotion in Mexico, which ranks third in meetings tourism in Latin America, below Argentina and Brazil."
