According to the data announced by the Ministry of Tourism, tourism revenues in the Caribbean destination have grown 3.5% compared to 2018


The tourism industry in the Dominican Republic has contributed to the country receiving income, classified in the “Travel” account of the Balance of Payments, an estimated the first half of the year 2019 to US $ 4.1 billion, for an increase of 3.5% with respect to 2018, according to the information issued by the technical vice ministry of the Ministry of Tourism.

This figure is generated by the arrival of 3,575,298 visitors by air, representing an increase of 134,493 additional visitors with respect to the same period of 2018 and an interannual growth of 3.9 percent.

Similarly, the arrival of cruise passengers (hikers) in the period January-June 2019, reached 599,352 for an increase of 48,863 visitors, 8.9% in relation to the same period of the year 2018 ..

Likewise, an increase in tax revenues (Exit Tax and Tourism Card) is estimated.
