PROMPERÚ inaugurates Casa Perú Lima 2019
Journalists, athletes and international delegates will explore Peru through sensory experiences and unprecedented virtual reality
In the occasion of the Pan American and Parapan American Games, the Commission for the Promotion of Export and Tourism (PROMPERÚ) opened the doors of Casa Peru Lima 2019, to show the best of the country to the international press and the thousands of athletes of the 41 delegations that will participate in the most important event in the sports history of Peru.
“Casa Peru is a marketing strategy that allows visitors to experience the attributes of the country in a single space, which represents a great opportunity to show the best of our culture and export star products to journalists who will cover Lima 2019, as well as the athletes and delegates that will circulate in the Sports Village, ”said the head of MINCETUR, Edgar Vásquez.
Casa Peru Lima 2019 will have two locations in the city: one in the Press Center, located in the Lima Convention Center, and the other in the Villa El Salvador Sports Village. Both places will concentrate the largest presence of American athletes and foreign press.
“The realization of these games is a great opportunity to make our country an ideal place for the realization of important sporting events and of international significance. Lima 2019 will also be a window to tell the world that Peru is a mega-diverse nation and that it has unmissable cultural, gastronomic and tourist destinations, ”said PROMPERÚ executive president Luis Torres.

The guiding thread of the Casa Peru is the Qhapaq Ñan, which invites you to travel through Peru, through the guide of a chasqui, along four paths: from nature (biodiversity and Amazonian culture), from adventure (tourist activities via reality virtual), of food (tastings of our superfoods, pisco and renowned cuisine) and of art and creativity, (crafts and works inspired by our millenary history).
On the other hand, the exhibition of the replica of the Lord of Sipán has been assembled, in which you can appreciate its main treasures and the tomb of Huaca Rajada (Lambayeque), where the tomb was found. This sample will be located in the hall on the 2nd floor of the Press Center at the Lima Convention Center.
There will also be a photographic exhibition of the first travel guide of Peru, made by the Spaniard Gonzalo de Reparaz. This will be located in the hall on the 4th floor of the Press Center at the Lima Convention Center.
In addition, in joint work with the National Forest and Wildlife Service (SERFOR) and the contribution of the Association of Timbers of Ucayali (CEMU), a house with certified timber from Peru has been implemented, to show the export potential of this product. For those visitors who wish to make trips to the interior of the country, the website www.peru.travel/lima2019 was created, which has a special section that promotes the country and its attractions among athletes, international attendees to the event and the general public.
The website is available in the Spanish and English languages. In addition, the page presents a special section where users can find more than 50 travel packages from 23 different tour operators, with offers from 11 regions of the country.
For the Peruvian public, PROMPERÚ will be present through a tourism module of the travel program And what are your plans? in the Exhibition Park, in order to promote travel within the national territory.
This is the fourth Casa Peru that implements PROMPERÚ, a promotional action that is organized in events that congregate a large international audience, as happened last year at the South Korean Winter Olympics, the South by South West in Texas and the Soccer World Cup Russia 2019.
