Generation Z wants to volunteer while traveling G
According to a Booking.com report when planning your next trip, Generation Z claims to take into account the planet and the effect that its decisions can have on this
Booking.com, the digital leader in the sector that connects travelers with the widest range of incredible accommodations, a variety of unique experiences and options to move easily, has conducted a global study in 29 markets to learn about behaviors and the ambitions of this generation that are reaching the age of majority in terms of travel. The study confirms that travelers of all ages are betting on ecological getaways and that Generation Z is no exception. In addition, they intend to be conscious travelers who will seek to contribute something to the communities that visit or protect our planet with the decisions they make.
Tourism and volunteering
Generation Z wants to do something for society, hence the generation that shows more interest in volunteering while traveling (41% vs. 31% global average). 51% of Spaniards of Generation Z who have never volunteered would be willing to try it on one of their next trips (56% of women vs. 43% of men) and almost half of Generation Z consider it important to contribute something to the local community that has welcomed them during their trip (34%).
Generational Intentions with Impact
When planning your next trip, Generation Z claims to take into account the planet and the effect that its decisions can have on it. In fact, 56% of Spaniards of Generation Z said that the environmental impact of the trip at the destination is an important factor to consider. In addition, 52% would choose to visit a less known place if it had a lower environmental impact.
However, the most striking is that Generation Z is slightly below other generations in this area. Specifically, regarding tourist overcrowding, 52% of Generation Z would consider not visiting a destination if it knew that it runs the risk of being affected by tourist overcrowding, a percentage that amounts to 57% in the case of millennials ( between the ages of 25 and 39), 59% in the case of baby boomers (over 55 years) and 64% in the case of Generation X (between 40 and 54 years).
56% of Generation Z travelers have good intentions, which is reflected in their preference for environmentally friendly and environmentally friendly accommodations when planning their trip and booking. However, when comparing this figure with that of previous generations, such as baby boomers (57%), Generation X (61%) and millennial (60%), this turns out to be the lowest.
