According to Sectur it is necessary to extend the stay of tourists in Mexico
The head of the Federal Tourism Secretariat said that product innovation and certification will make the country a more attractive, original and unique destination
The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, said that it is necessary to extend the stay of travelers who visit us, offering more and better attractions.
Together with the governor of Tamaulipas, Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca, they presented at “Punto México”, in Sectur, the new promotional campaign of this state.
Last year, 3 million 660 thousand tourists who stayed at the hotel visited the entity, of which 4.1 percent came from abroad.
It is necessary to extend the stay of tourists who visit Mexico, offering more and better tourist products, since travelers, who are increasingly more informed and are more demanding, look for interesting and innovative attractions, said this afternoon the Secretary of Tourism of the Government from Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués.
Presenting with the governor Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca the new promotional campaign of Tamaulipas, the head of the Federal Ministry of Tourism said that innovation and certification of products will make our country a more attractive, original and unique destination.
With the presence also of the Secretary of Tourism of Tamaulipas, Fernando Olivera Rocha, he added that our tourism products enrich Mexico's potential in this material, so the Sectur constantly works on the development and regional integration of the tourism product to make Mexico a most competitive country.
“With Governor Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca and with the secretary of tourism of this entity, Fernando Olivera, we will join forces so that Tamaulipas becomes a tourist reference, with attractions such as its“ El Cielo ”Biosphere Reserve, ideal for Ecotourism practice; the Reformation Theater, where dance, opera and drama shows are presented; the Museum of Contemporary Art; its two Magical Towns: Tula and Mier; as well as the Vicente Guerrero dam, one of the largest in the country, among others, said Torruco Marqués.
He also said that this new promotional campaign will serve to show the natural, cultural and gastronomic wealth of the state, thereby positioning its new image that will define the national and international promotion campaigns of Tamaulipas.
Currently, Tamaulipas has an infrastructure of 683 hotels and 26 thousand 818 rooms, of which 42 percent are in the category of three, four and five stars, where last year three million 660 thousand tourists who visited the entity and of which 4.1 percent came from abroad. The spill collected, just for lodging, was 2,896 million pesos.
In addition, its average occupancy was 50.1 percent, with a stay of 1.5 nights, both for national and international tourists, coming from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Holland and India, mainly.
Finally, the federal Sectur holder said that the five Tamaulipas airports, located in Ciudad Victoria, Matamoros, Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa and Tampico, received eight thousand 444 flights with 678 thousand passengers, of which 370 were international with 14 thousand 373 passengers.
