At an international congress, Gilson Machado Neto said that the moment is unique and should be used to reduce bureaucracy in the sector

The future of Brazilian tourism was debated on the morning of Wednesday (21). The Sindepat Summit, held in Brasilia (DF), brought together industry officials and businessmen in a congress to analyze the future of Theme and Water Parks in the country. The president of Embratur (Brazilian Tourism Institute), Gilson Machado Neto, attended the opening of the event and defended a more proactive political agenda for entrepreneurship.

“From the age of 9 I hear that Brazil is the country of the future, and now we have a unique opportunity now that we can't pass up. High tax burdens hinder the advancement of tourism in the country and we fight all day to improve the working conditions of our entrepreneurs, ”Embratur's president told an audience of international investors.

The Summit was organized by Sindepat (Integrated System of Parks and Tourist Attractions). According to its director, Murilo Paschoal (Beach Park), it is vital that Embratur continues to advocate for a positive legislative agenda that fosters investment, attracts more tourists and consequently creates more jobs. “These are measures that will make our tourism more active and less bureaucratic,” he said.

Gilson Machado explained that he has already debated with President Jair Bolsonaro the possibility of creating a national free zone for parks. "Look at the example of Orlando, in the United States, which, driven by its attractions, has already surpassed New York in tourist movement."

The event was also attended by the Deputy Governor of the Federal District, Paco Britto, the Secretary of Tourism of the DF, Vanessa Chaves de Mendonça, federal deputies and directors of Embratur. Exhibitors from 9 countries also attended the Summit
