ANATO creates department specialized in receptive tourism

Between January and June 2019, 2,149,854 foreign visitors have been registered in Colombia

Taking into account the relevance of promoting tourism wealth in Colombia for the Association, the National Board of Directors of ANATO decided to create a receptive tourism department within the guild, in which the participation of a large number of Travel Agencies of quality, with which a line of work is established in order to improve the competitiveness of destinations, and encourage more domestic and foreign travelers to travel through our territory.

It is noteworthy the significant growth that has been the arrival of foreign visitors to our country, a figure that has reached 2,149,854 registration between January and June 2019, with a growth of 3.6%, compared to the same period of 2018. (Source: Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism).

“We have been driving the tourist attractions of our country. We are aware of its potential, and that is why the work of Travel Agencies in promoting our wealth has been crucial. We want more national and intentional tourists to know the infinite alternatives they have for vacationing in Colombia, ”said Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO.

He added: "the opening of this national Department of Receptive Tourism seeks to establish an action plan that highlights specific activities by market niche, that identifies the Travel Agencies that are part of this subsector and that stands out as support for the actions carried out for the Government. "

As part of this initiative, the Association wants to summon all companies in the industry to be part of the First National Meeting of Incoming Tourism, which will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 in Cartagena de Indias. This is an event whose objective is to expand knowledge about trends and corporate practices that help the positioning of receptive tourism.
