From September 4 to 6, leaders in legal matters and representatives of the aviation industry in Latin America and the world have gathered at the World Center to analyze trends and possibilities to expand connectivity in the region

This is the second event of the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA), after the Pan American Aviation Security Summit (June 2019).

The city welcomed the approximately 130 visitors attending the congress, in a warm event organized by Quito Tourism, in the Botanical Garden (Parque La Carolina). There, the general manager of the municipal entity, Carla Cárdenas, expressed the “high honor” that means for the city to receive again an ALTA event, while exposing the high potential of Quito in matters of connectivity and meetings tourism.

“In the case of connectivity, we are favored by being in the Center of the World, the meeting point of the northern and southern hemispheres. If we add to this our modern airport facilities with great capacity for expansion, we have a potential regional hub, ”said Cárdenas, who ended by inviting attendees to return to the city in the future:“ I extend the invitation to return, like all migratory birds that always find their way back to Quito, to start here, together with their dearest relatives and friends. "

Among the airlines and institutions participating in the meeting are: Aeromexico, Air Canada, Air Bus, Southwest, Lufthansa Group, UPS, United Airlines, Caribbean Airlines, Air Portugal, American Airlines, Aruba Airlines, IATA, Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority, LCM Lawyers, TP Consulting.

This event strengthens the management of Quito Tourism in two of its strategic axes: connectivity and high impact product, in which the city has proposed to position itself as a leading destination for meeting tourism.
