Mon September 16, 2019

"There is even growing demand for Brazil, especially now with the withdrawal of visas for some countries like the United States and Canada," said the president of the Gilson Machado Neto Institute.

The improvement of the Brazilian air network, especially with flights from abroad, is one of the main flags of Embratur (Brazilian Tourism Institute). The president of the Institute, Gilson Machado Neto, met with several industry companies at the Las Vegas-based IMEX International Business Tourism Fair from September 10-12.

Accompanied by Rafael Luisi, head of Embratur's Strategic Management Advisory, Gilson presented the improvements made by President Jair Bolsonaro's government, and some projects, to foster the Brazilian aeronautics sector and its competitiveness. The following companies attended the meetings: Eva Air, Delta Airlines, Skyteam, Air Canada and Lufthansa.

“International airlines can be sure that we work to achieve the best possible conditions for their operations. There is even increasing demand for Brazil, especially now with the withdrawal of visas for some countries like the United States and Canada, ”said Gilson.

He explained some news, such as reducing the value of kerosene and allowing 100% foreign capital in airlines. Raymond Wong, representative of Eva Air, said the company is a member of Star Alliance and is studying partnerships to make connections in Brazil.

Delta and Skyteam representatives confirmed that they are open to talk about the increase of more flights to Brazil. The search for direct flights, such as Recife-Las Vegas, is one of the studies to be performed.

Air Canada said that between December this year and May next year, it will fly Montreal-Sao Paulo three times a week. The German Lufthansa showed enthusiasm to disclose the destination Brazil on their flights and study possibilities of new routes.

The president of Embratur invited the companies to come to Brazil to talk with President Jair Bolsonaro and to discuss more concretely the improvement of the Brazilian air network.
