MITM America opens a historic edition in Havana

The show opens its doors today in the Cuban capital. A large number of MICE segment suppliers and specially selected buyers will be present

The appointment as such returns to Cuba this 2019, to highlight the intention of the Cuban authorities to diversify the offer of trips to this country, and celebrate the 500 years of Havana (next November 16).

The program provides for the appointment from October 14 to 18, but on the 16th it will be the business meetings at the National Hotel of Cuba.

Subsequently, the delegates will participate in the Post tour with visits to the Varadero spa and the Guillermo and Ensenachos keys.

Spokesmen of the Spanish company GSAR Marketing, the main organizer, expressed their satisfaction with the steps taken for the celebration in Havana of the 23rd edition of MITM Americas.

They commented that this is the most influential fair in the Americas and the Caribbean in the sector of meetings and incentives trips. This is the third time that this call is made in Havana, the previous one occurred at the Meliá Cohiba Hotel in 2018.

The 23 edition of MITM Americas offers an opportunity to enjoy the celebrations for the 500 years of this Cuban capital.

The event is sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) of Cuba, Gran Caribe Hotels & Resorts, Hotel Nacional de Cuba (event venue), Cubatur (official receptive) and Iberia Airlines.

The participants of this edition will receive training courses for professionals in the tourism sector taught by professors from the University of Nebrija, MICE Training, the Confederation of Congress Organizers of Latin America (Cocal), and Noun Events and Executive Training.

On the other hand, the main organizer GSAR Marketing confirmed the participation of 10 Spanish hotel chains, including Meliá, Iberostar and Barceló.

America represents, in some cases, 25 percent of the turnover of Spanish hotel chains, according to the ranking published annually by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Other hotel chains such as Accor, Louvre, Blue Diamond, Faranda, Gran Caribe, MGM Muthu, Four Points by Sheraton, and Cubanacán also attend this event.
