FITUR GAY consolidates its presence in FITUR 2020
The section dedicated to LGBT tourism will welcome, on its 10th anniversary, companies, destinations, events and professionals willing to meet new trends and business opportunities
The International Tourism Fair, FITUR 2020, will host the FITUR GAY monographic space (LGBT +) for another year. From January 22 to 26, the section dedicated to LGBT tourism will open its doors for 10th year to companies, destinations, events and professionals willing to meet and discover new trends and business opportunities.
According to the World Travel & Tourism Council, WTTC, LGBT tourism accounts for 10% of tourists worldwide and a travel expense of approximately 16%, which translates into 180 billion euros a year. In addition, it is estimated that about 7 million of the tourists that Spain receives, annually, belong to this group.
FITUR Gay (LGBT +) has become a reference event as it is the most important specialized section of this field among international tourism fairs. FITUR Gay (LGBT +) responds to a growing demand for destinations, companies, hotel chains, airlines, tour operators who want to focus on the LGBT + segment. It is a group that enjoys great purchasing power because it has a greater disposable income and its tourist activity is one of the most seasonally adjusted in the tourism industry.
Organized by IFEMA, FITUR 2020 will be held on January 22-26 at the Feria de Madrid. This great global meeting point for tourism professionals, leader in the global panorama of this industry, prepares one of its most complete editions, with Korea as a Partner Country, and in which sustainability, technology and specialization, will continue to have A strong role. All this within the framework of its 40th Anniversary, a special occasion whose celebration will put the finishing touch to a whole series of initiatives already underway and that aim to give continuity to the successful and ascending trajectory of FITUR. In its last edition, FITUR brought together 10,400 participating companies with more than 253,000 attendees.
