The Association was recognized for its remarkable contribution to the benefit of the industry and the services provided for its development

After 70 years of great contributions to the growth and strengthening of tourism, ANATO held a gala dinner yesterday, in the company of his friends and allies in the sector. As part of the event, the Association was honored with the Industrial Order of Merit Decoration, in the Grand Official hierarchy, which was delivered by the President of the Republic, Dr. Iván Duque Márquez.
This distinction is a recognition of the remarkable contribution of the union for the benefit of the national industry and the services provided for its development.

During his speech, the president referred to the importance of the Association in strengthening tourism in Colombia: “It really motivates me to be here today, because ANATO has a history that is the history of optimism, of what is the Colombian. The Association was an idea at a time of turbulence in our national history, but that was how citizens were reached with greater offers and the concept of the travel agency began to evolve in Colombia. These 70 years fill me with joy. ”

Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO, thanked the assistance of the President of the Republic, Dr. Iván Duque Márquez, highlighting the importance that the Government has given to tourism as a leading industry for the economic progress of our country.

It should be noted that throughout its 70 years, it has sought to provide representation to the interests of Travel Agencies and tourism, create initiatives that lead companies to greater professionalism and better conditions for the development of the commercial activity of the agencies.

Likewise, the trade union leader referred to the important contribution of the Tourist Showcase to the sector in Colombia; and of the National Congress of Travel Agencies as promoter of the updating, professionalization and training of all sectors.

Likewise, within the framework of the celebration, the Association proposed on October 20, the date on which the anniversary of the Association is commemorated, such as the National Travel Agent Day. "We want to propose this date to recognize the work of all those who have constantly worked to realize the dreams of travelers, through personalized, reliable and professional services," said the union leader.

According to Paula Cortés Calle, the work of ANATO never ends, new challenges will come, the market will continue to evolve and the traveler will be increasingly demanding, and therefore, training will continue to be provided and will strengthen its alliance with technology to be at forefront of what tourism demands in the world.
