GOL and Avianca Holdings announce code share agreement
The deal will allow customers to connect directly on the flights of both airlines
The alliance, initially, will allow Avianca to sell segments from Lima and Bogotá, capitals of countries that currently mobilize the largest number of passengers to and from Brazil. This new agreement will include 60 national GOL and 16 international destinations in 11 countries, as well as 26 Avianca destinations in Colombia and another 50 in America and Europe.
Customers who buy these integrated tickets will have the facility to register the luggage directly to their final destination on connecting flights and maintain the same code for both sections. Subject to government approvals, air ticket sales are scheduled to begin until the end of November.

In 2018 we transport more than 600,000 passengers to and from this country, which represented occupancy factors greater than 80% on all routes. We are pleased with the signing of this code-share agreement with GOL, with which we will be able to expand the possibilities of connecting our travelers and continue connecting Latin America with the world, ”says Ana María Copete, Alliance Director of Avianca Holdings.
Additionally, soon, airlines will sign a Frequent Flyer Agreement (FFP), which allows members of the Smiles and LifeMiles loyalty programs to earn and redeem miles on the flights of both companies. Likewise, for next year, until the end of the first quarter, GOL also plans to start selling Avianca flights on its channels, both between Brazil-Colombia and Brazil-Peru, as well as routes inside these countries and others. destinations operated by Avianca.
Currently, GOL offers 13 codeshare agreements *, 14 frequent interline flyer agreements ** and 77 interline agreements, including regional airlines such as Passaredo, MAP and TwoFlex, which provide more convenience and ease of connection to any place served by these associations .
