Rosewood Mayakoba Riviera Maya is renewed to surprise its guests
After an investment of 20 million dollars, the resort presents a renewed image with a transformative design, impressive presidential suites, suites dedicated to wellness and a new bar concept
A new destination of luxury and well-being emerges in the middle of the jungle and white sand beaches of the Riviera Maya with the resurgence of Rosewood Mayakoba and the total renovation of its 129 suites, the transformation of 8 suites into holistic wellness spaces, impressive adjustments to its presidential suites and the debut of Zapote, an innovative bar experience inspired by the culinary traditions of Mexico. After an investment of more than 20 million dollars, the new image of the resort will fill its guests with supreme comfort and modern environments in symbiosis with nature, exalting their vacation and gastronomic experience in this Caribbean paradise.
“With the renovations of each of the Rosewood Mayakoba suites, we seek to take the guest experience to another level by offering the ultimate in luxury, comfort and modernity, but with the warmth that characterizes us, so that they always have a reason to come back, ”said Daniel Scott, Executive Director of Rosewood Mayakoba. "In this way, we reaffirm our commitment to the continuous improvement of guest experiences by inviting them to discover the best of the Riviera Maya."
Rosewood Mayakoba Riviera Maya, hospitality of the highest level of luxury and member of the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts collection underwent a period of twelve months of renovation in which each of its suites was carefully remodeled in both interior design and furniture and adaptations of spaces resulting in modern and bright environments that will offer maximum comfort and privacy to continue providing unparalleled experiences under the Rosewood seal.
The remodeling was carried out by the international design firm based in NY, Bando x Seidel Meersseman who were inspired by the natural wealth of Mayakoba transforming each suite into a sanctuary of relaxation with nature as the protagonist. The fresh, elegant and comfortable concept of the suites is combined with the importance of giving priority to natural materials such as Rosa Morada wood or volcanic stone. The shades of the suites resemble those of the natural environment that can be seen through the windows, so that those who have a view of the beach enjoy color accents in warm tones, such as mud, while those that have sight to the lagoon they present blue and green accents that resemble the jungle. In addition, to achieve this natural immersion, each terrace was transformed into a lounge area to enjoy even more private pools and natural landscapes.
The new furniture is inspired by Mayan architecture, although with a modern and simple angle. The furniture has been manufactured locally, with the aim of supporting local artisans. In addition, traditional handicrafts from the region, such as embroidery, textiles and clay pieces, prevail in the decoration. They collaborated directly with local artists and artisans to create unique objects, such as ceramic figures, some carved wooden sticks, embroidered textiles that have a modern hue, or a woven panel, to name a few. Something that is curious is to discover art inspired by the small animals originating in Yucatan that are represented through details in all suites, such as turtles, crocodiles and local birds.
Among the most exclusive suites offered by Rosewood Mayakoba are eight Wellness Suites located on the same island where the multi-award-winning spa hotel is located, which will make its debut in December. The experience of these suites goes beyond a resting place as they seek to offer guests a transformative stay. Rosewood Mayakoba has always adopted an integrated and personalized approach to wellness, emphasizing the interconnection of mind, body and spirit. This is why the Wellness Suites are carefully designed, with services and amenities that will deepen these elements
