The delegation of Quintana Roo present in the WTM World Travel Market composed of the Secretary of Tourism, Marisol Vanegas Pérez and the General Director of the CPTQ, Darío Flota Ocampo and representatives of State companies successfully conclude the tourism fair focused on the main market European for Quintana Roo: the British market. These actions of the Government headed by Carlos Joaquín strengthen the arrival of more international visitors to the tourist destinations of the Mexican Caribbean to generate more and better opportunities for the Quintana Roo. On the last day of the fair, the agenda began with the meeting held by the head of State Tourism, Marisol Vanegas at the offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Commonwealth Office (FCO) in charge of relations foreign affairs in Europe and relations with the member countries of the Commonwealth of Nations, responsible for protecting and promoting British interests worldwide, with whom it addressed issues of common interest, such as health (zero cases of Ciclospora), security (zero affected British tourists) and travel recommendations for British tourists. The Ministry acknowledged the attention given by the Government of Quintana Roo on issues such as the repatriation of tourists affected by the break of Thomas Cook and agreed to open further direct communication lines. “We share a lot of information, about the actions that are carried out in Quintana Roo, for the strengthening of security, such as the results of the first year of the Guest Assist, which has given very good results to English tourists, working together with the CPTQ, to protect and promote the safety of the British who visit us, in all the tourist destinations of our region, ”commented the head of the SEDETUR. From November 4 to 6, appointments were made with tour operators such as Logitravel and travel agents and the Expedia online booking platform as well as serving media outlets in the United Kingdom, Mexico and Russia. “British Airways that had 4 weekly flights announced for the summer 2020 a 5th frequency and a 6th that will be temporarily for the summer, so for that season we will practically have daily flights from London to Cancun, we are waiting for the new operators announce a new charter flight that meets the demand for trips to our State, ”said Darío Flota Ocampo, General Director of the CPTQ. In the framework of the fair, on Tuesday, Vanegas Pérez attended the World Tourism Organization (OMT) Minister's Summit and in the morning, he held a meeting with Adolfo Favieres, together with CPTQ Director General Darío Flota Ocampo, Ambassador of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). The United Kingdom is the main strategic European market, with an average stay of 9.2 days. During 2018, 459 953 British tourists arrived in Quintana Roo. Vanegas Pérez and Flota Ocampo, also attended the Annual Reception of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
