Secretary of Tourism of Mexico highlighted WTM results

With great success, the participation of the Mexico Pavilion in the World Travel Market ended, which is held every year in London, an event considered, given its importance, as a must for the tourism sector worldwide.
In this regard, the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, said that with more than five thousand exhibitors from 182 countries, this week met in the capital of England, under one roof, representatives of destinations, tour operators, hotels, lines, technology companies and online travel services, where our country could not be missing, as part of the leading nations of the world tourism industry.
He said that the representation of Mexico was also led by the leaders of the national tourism sector, which integrated the Pavilion of Mexico into the WTM London. There were more than 60 professionals from the Business Tourism segment, among which the participation of representatives of tourist destinations, such as Mexico City; the states of Chiapas, Oaxaca and Puebla, as well as specific destinations such as the Puerto Vallarta – Riviera Nayarit binomial, and leading companies such as Xcaret, in Quintana Roo; and the main hotel and airline chains, such as Vidanta Resorts and Grupo Posadas, in addition to Aeromexico, among others.
The Secretary of Tourism of Mexico added that, unlike previous years, in this fourth international fair organized by the CREA company, participants in the Pavilion of Mexico had the additional benefit of an invitation sent to more than three thousand 106 international buyers to Visit the Pavilion
At the inauguration of the Mexico Pavilion at WTM London, the governor of Oaxaca, Alejandro Murat, and his secretary of Tourism, Juan Carlos Rivera, were present; the secretary of Tourism of Baja California Sur and president of the Association of Secretaries of Tourism of Mexico (Asetur), Luis Humberto Araiza; Paola Félix, director of the Mixed Fund for Tourism Promotion of Mexico City; Javier Aranda, director of the Puerto Vallarta Trust; Lucero Guerrero, representative of the Riviera Nayarit Trust; Nieves Rodríguez, from Aeromexico; Aníbal Gómez, in charge of the Mexican ambassador's office in England; and Rodrigo Hurtado, director of International Fairs.
The head of Sectur stressed that the United Kingdom is the third country, worldwide, issuer of tourists to Mexico, and the first in the European continent. Last year, from that nation, 590 thousand 945 tourists arrived in Mexico by air. In addition, this passenger market for our country grew 16.8 percent between 2015 and 2018.
Finally, he pointed out that the next participation of the Mexico Pavilion in an international fair will be at the IBTM World World Tourism Exhibition, in Barcelona, Spain, from November 19 to 21.
