President of the Institute, Gilson Machado Neto, met with representatives of Amazonastur to discuss the bottlenecks of tourist flow in the state.

The president of Embratur (Brazilian Tourism Institute), Gilson Machado Neto, received on Wednesday (20) the director of Amazonastur, Roselene Medeiros, and pledged to unlock bottlenecks to increase the flow of tourism in the region. One of the items discussed at the meeting was the capture of flights from Europe to the state. In addition, Roselene highlighted the creation of a new tourist route that will pass through Amazonas, Pará and Maranhão, and asked for support to publicize the attraction.

“We are very interested in strengthening tourism in the Amazon. What is profitable for the state will be profitable for Embratur and, consequently, for Brazil. We will send Amazonastur's proposals to airlines that are in agreement and are interested in offering flights to the region, ”said Embratur's president.

Also during the meeting, the director asked the president for support in the process of assigning Embratur land to the state. Located on Lake Salvador, a place surrounded by the Amazon Rainforest on the banks of the Rio Negro, the area belongs to the Union and, according to Roselene Medeiros, the process is stalled and “would serve as construction of projects that will generate income, jobs and foreign exchange. " President Gilson Machado Neto has also pledged to review and proceed with the assignment, which already has a term signed by both spheres for the action.

The Amazonastur representative also highlighted the need to increase the visibility of the state of Amazonas especially at Embratur booths, set up at international fairs. Present at the meeting, the Institute's General Coordinator of Publicity and Advertising, Silvio Nascimento, informed that a letter has been drafted that will be sent to all the state tourist offices of the country, for the granting of updated images of the Brazilian destinations. “With this new material, voluntarily donated by the agencies, it will be possible to use and diversify the attractions in our plays, actions and international participations,” said Silvio.
