RIU celebrates the second edition of the Riu Awards Mexico
The chain has delivered a total of 15 awards recognizing the work of different tour operators
RIU Hotels has celebrated its second edition of the RIU Awards Mexico, awards that were given for the first time last year and with which the chain recognizes the work of the most important Mexican tour operators for the hotel chain. In total, 12 awards have been divided into different categories in an event that has been held at the Riu Plaza Guadalajara and has had guests from Mexico City, Monterrey, León, Chihuahua, Guadalajara, among other important cities of the country.
The joint work between RIU Hotels and the tour operators with which it works has allowed, in this 2019, the chain to record sales records throughout the Mexican market, having grown by 20% compared to last year. Data that, for Víctor Anaya, Director of Contracts and Sales in Mexico, reflect the trend of market growth: “The Mexican customer is very loyal to our brand, which they associate as a product with a very difficult value for money to improve and overcome ”. In addition, according to Anaya, this year RIU “has taken great steps in digital connectivity with its distributors so that they always have online availability and rates that improve the efficiency of the processes of creation of tourist packages, something that we are also being pioneers. ”
The ceremony was hosted by the entire RIU Recruitment and Sales team in Mexico, in addition to the chain's Sales representatives in the different destinations in the country. After a welcome cocktail and a glamorous four-course dinner, prepared and served by the staff of Riu Plaza Guadalajara, the awards were presented.
Among the 12 awards that were distributed, five highlighted the tour operators with greater production; six recognized the work of the accounts with the highest sales in each destination (Guadalajara, Caribbean, Costa Mujeres, Los Cabos, Mazatlan and Vallarta); and finally, the fastest growing tour operator was awarded in 2019.
Among those attending the event were the 15 guest tour operators, from which all the winners of the international hotel company came out.
The Riu Plaza Guadalajara, the venue of the event, is one of the eight city hotels that RIU has around the world and the only one located in Mexico.
