Motto by Hilton Lima Miraflores will boost Hilton's expansion in the country
where the company already has more than 10 properties in its development channel


Hilton (NYSE: HLT) announced the signing of a franchise agreement for the development of a new Motto by Hilton hotel in Lima, Peru, which represents the launch of the brand in the Caribbean and Latin America. Launched in October 2018 as the newest Hilton lifestyle hotel brand, Motto by Hilton presents a new approach for today's travelers, as it combines efficient micro rooms, vibrant social spaces, locally inspired design and a community atmosphere in downtown urban destinations to serve travelers who are looking for a good price and unique experiences.

In collaboration with Compañía Hotelera CINSA S.A., Motto by Hilton Lima Miraflores will begin construction in May 2020 and is expected to open its doors in 2022.

"In the last five years, we have more than doubled the amount of properties in the Caribbean and Latin America region, and Peru has played a very important role in our growth strategy," said Juan Corvinos, vice president of development for Latin America and the Hilton Caribbean. "The dynamism of a country like Peru, with a stable economy and a constant tourism investment, makes it the perfect place to launch the Motto by Hilton brand."

Located in the most vibrant tourist neighborhood of Lima, known for its shops and restaurants of category, the 150-room Motto by Hilton Lima Miraflores hotel will present a flexible design that partially blends interior and exterior spaces with a cafeteria, a colonial-inspired patio Lima, open restaurants, and coworking spaces to connect travelers and local residents in community spaces. The design of the hotel will feature European, African and Asian influences inspired by the diverse origins that combine to form Peruvian identity, using mid-century modernist furniture along with neutral color palettes, complemented by touches of orange, pink, green and charcoal gray.

“When celebrating our launch in Latin America, we knew that Miraflores would fit naturally in our portfolio, since it is an exciting market with a rich history and a vibrant culture that are consistent with the objective of our brand to be present in the most visited cities in the world ”Said Tripp McLaughlin, global leader of the Motto by Hilton brand. "We have created a new approach to travel today, connecting guests with local residents, and we hope to show travelers a different aspect of Lima, giving them the freedom to create their own experiences."

Miraflores, a fast-growing neighborhood, has a rich pre-Columbian history that, thanks to rural immigration that occurred in the 1940s, would later become a progressive modernist icon in the early twentieth century. Engalanado with vibrant street art, colorful houses and lush green spaces, Miraflores is a cultural mecca for travelers and has nearby attractions such as Casa Aliaga, one of the oldest colonial mansions in the city; the District of Barranco, headquarters of the main artists, musicians, photographers and designers of Peru; Popular beaches like Los Yuyos and Makaha, and several restaurants offering award-winning Peruvian cuisine.
