Colombia will be at Expo Dubai 2020 with a space of 2300 square meters
It will be 173 days to show the best of the country as a destination for tourism and international investment
In the highest traffic corridor, very close to the pavilions of the United Arab Emirates, China and the United States, Colombia prepares its participation in Expo Dubai 2020, the most important promotional scenario in the world that will take place for the first time in the Middle East .
“With our participation in Expo Dubai we are reiterating the value and importance for Colombia of its relationship with the United Arab Emirates in terms of investment, tourism, and also of exports. We recognize in this country a great opportunity to connect with the world, ”said José Manuel Restrepo, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism.
The Colombian participation, which will have the slogan 'The rhythm that connects the future', is led by an intersectoral commission headed by the Presidency of the Republic, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Department of Planning and Procolombia.
“It is a country project that will link public and private sector entities, who will join forces to carry out one of the most ambitious international promotion initiatives in the history of Colombia. A project that is completely aligned with the objectives of internationalization and opening of new markets led by the Government, ”said Flavia Santoro, president of ProColombia.
Expo Dubai, which will bring together from October 20, 2020 to 190 countries in a space of more than 4 square km between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, will be a platform to expose the creativity and cultural diversity that characterizes Colombians to 25 million visitors .
“Expo Dubai 2020 is tailored to Colombia because with the concept 'Connect minds, build a future' it has a clear focus on the opportunities offered by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, a subject in which Colombia is a regional reference thanks to the installation of the Center of the Fourth Industrial Revolution of the WEF in Medellín ”, added Santoro during the signing of the Colombian participation contract between the General Commissioner of Colombia for Expo Dubai 2020, Juan Pablo Cavelier, and the UAE ambassador, He Salem Al Owais.
It will also be an ideal occasion to open the doors of a market of more than 2 billion potential consumers in the Menasa region, that is, from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia, who will be able to see Colombian products first hand , investment opportunities and tourism offer.
