Air passenger flow in Dominican Republic has exceeded 14.4 million in 2019
A total of 13,190,082 were mobilized on regular flights. Meanwhile, 1,268,960 passengers were mobilized by charter flights
The flow of passengers mobilized in the Dominican Republic in 2019, remains for the second year, over fourteen million, even though the amount decreased slightly compared to January - December 2018, according to the information collected by Dominican Infotur on the part of the data provided by the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC).
In that sense, the country recorded the mobilization of 14,459,042 passengers in these twelve months compared to the 14,513,333 passengers who mobilized in 2018 through its international airports. That is, 54,291 passengers less.
Even when the figures remain positive, in the comparisons made by Infotur Dominicano it is verified that there is a reduction in the projection that was estimated for the end of 2019, given the various situations that the country's tourism sector has had to face end of the first semester
As we mentioned earlier, this is the second time that the Dominican Republic mobilizes more than 14 million passengers in a year, taking into account that in 2017, it registered the mobilization of 13,812,874 passengers, which represents an increase between 2017 and 2018 of 700,459 passengers, which could be interpreted as part of the passenger deficit that could be added to those transported in 2019, if the situation that had an impact on the media and social networks in the US had not been presented.
Of the 14,459,042 passengers, a total of 13,190,082 were mobilized on regular flights. Of these, 6,557,395 passengers arrived by the Dominican air terminals. While 6,632,687 passengers left by them.
Meanwhile, 1,268,960 passengers were mobilized by charter flights. Of these, 633,481 arrived in the country and 635,479 left under this modality in these twelve months of 2019.
