Quito promotes its attractions in the Netherlands
The Ecuadorian capital participates in the 50th edition of Vakantiebeurs, which will take place from January 15 to 19 in Utrecht
Together with representatives of the local tourism industry, Quito Tourism will promote the benefits of the 'Capital of the World Center' and show a creative and experiential destination, in the 50th edition of Vakantiebeurs, which will take place from January 15 to 19 in Utrecht (Holland).
It is one of the main tourism and leisure fairs for the Dutch market and the region of Northern Europe, in a modality of specialized fair and access to the general public.
During 2018, Quito received 692,492 tourists, of which 2% came from the Netherlands, thus becoming one of the eleven main markets to which the capital points to its positioning.
Since last year, the coordination of Quito Tourism Europe planned the scouting of this market in order to take coordinated actions with the industry, to capture and create new links with Dutch tourists, according to their interests and requirements.
Vakantiebeurs is a fair that seeks to make travel, adventure, culture and family travel deals available to the industry and the consumer. On Wednesday, January 15, the venue opens only for exhibitors, in order to hold business to business (B2B) meetings while, from January 16 to 19, the doors open to the general public.
Experiential tourism seeks to establish an emotional relationship between the tourist and the inhabitants of the destination, forging a link through unique experiences and sensations, and will be the way in which Quito will make a difference according to the actions framed in the Strategic Plan of Tourist Development of Quito, which considers Marketing as one of its axes of action, and the acquisition of new markets as one of its strategic actions.
