Hotel occupancy in Argentina amounted to almost 80% on average throughout the country
The main tourist destinations had an outstanding movement during the first half of January
"It is a great start of the year for the sector, for all destinations that managed to boost their economies and generate employment from this activity in every corner of the country," said the president of the CAT, Aldo Elías, within the balance sheet of the first fifteen days of the current month.
The survey, prepared by the Fedecatur and the CAT, based on data from almost 70 destinations and tourist regions across the country, showed that the average occupancy for this summer holiday period was 76.4%, with a large performance of the Atlantic Coast and the main destinations of the different regions of the country.
Among the consumption trends, an important tourist movement stands out during the weekends, reaching occupancy peaks in almost all locations that offer a variety of festivals, and summoning sports and cultural shows.
On the other hand, in reference to the prices of this summer season, Elías stressed that they remained below inflation, which had a favorable reception by tourists who filled the resorts.
“We hope to keep this positive result during January, and in general for the rest of the season. We are optimistic and understand that occupancy levels will be enhanced with the Long Carnival Holiday that arouses great enthusiasm for Argentine travelers, ”said the president of the Chamber.
