William França is the new Secretary for Development and Competitiveness of Tourism in Brazil
Will be responsible for planning programs and strategies that strengthen responsible and sustainable tourism
The National Secretariat for Tourism Development and Competitiveness, of the Ministry of Tourism, already has a new holder. This is the Brasilian journalist William França Cordeiro. The appointment was published on Tuesday (28), in the Official Gazette (DOU). França has a degree in Social Communication from Centro Universitário de Brasília (Uniceub) for over 30 years and an MBA in Strategic Management with a focus on business management, HR and marketing.
“The challenge of this new position is to provide conditions for the tourism policy outlined by Minister Marcelo Álvaro Antonio to be effective, generating jobs and income for Brazilians and also ordering our destinations. We have a fantastic country and we want everyone to know it and enjoy its beauty and history ”, commented the current secretary.
The journalist has almost 20 years of experience in the public sector, having worked at the former Ministries of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade and Communications. In the bodies, France acted as responsible for the policy and planning of the Social Communication sector. He coordinated the dissemination, press service and advertising sectors, including the design of advertising campaigns for the two Folders.
Since 2005, he has been a servant of the Chamber of Deputies, taking on various positions, such as publicizing director, secretary of Social Communication, chief advisor of the Special Projects Center and director of the Management and Strategic Projects Advisory. Since April last year, he served as a special advisor to the Ministry of Tourism, where he monitored and advised internal and external agendas, in addition to supervising the agency's social communication actions.
With the change, William França will be responsible for activities of regulation, inspection and qualification of the tourist segments; for planning programs and projects that contribute to the strengthening and development of responsible and sustainable tourism; events that generate tourist flows and stimulate the competitiveness of Brazilian products and tourist destinations
