La Cita de Las Americas is a boutique gathering of travel professionals built on the power of relationships and dedicated to the outbound travel markets of Latin America. For the first time, this year’s La Cita will take place on the West Coast of Florida at the beautiful JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort in Naples, Florida, September 9-11, 2020. Industry reaction has been strong.

“Between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, over 200,000 passengers a week are arriving from Latin America- People that are landing 100 miles from our destination, looking for unique and memorable vacation experiences.” said Jack Wert, Executive Director of the Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention and Visitors Bureau. Wert continued, “Our area has some of the finest vacation experiences in the world and we’re excited about hosting La Cita and showing what’s made our area one of the most sought after places to go in Florida".

La Cita provides a “high touch” environment where attendees connect with new and familiar faces in a relaxed and inclusive business environment. During La Cita, delegates will also have the opportunity to explore the beautiful destination of Naples, Marco Island while enjoying the comfort of the JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort.

Claudia Cianfero, Travel Industry Sales Manager for the Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention and Visitors Bureau has been spending a great deal of time in Latin America. “We’re seeing a tremendous boost in the level of interest and excitement in Florida’s West Coast, in general, and in our area specifically. La Cita’s timing is perfect and will provide our suppliers with the perfect opportunity to meet and do business with the great buyers I’ve been meeting in Latin America,” she said.

“This year’s edition continues to bring cutting-edge information and education sessions,” commented Rick Still, La Cita’s Managing Director.  During La Cita’s first day, September 9, presentations by industry experts on Latin America, tourism trends, market reports and industry products are open to all delegates.

Still commented on a new development: “This year, in addition to suppliers from the United States, La Cita is opening the business floor to suppliers from throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. This strategic decision will make La Cita a “must-attend” event where tour operators can get all the products their clients demand and where suppliers can meet the right partners to develop business from throughout the Latin American region.”

Beyond the once-a-year conference that is La Cita, Heather Still, La Cita's Assistant Managing Director talked about the added value available to the industry through La Cita’s portal, “The La Cita site has become a resource tool for the tourism industry where visitors can read publications from all over the Americas by just clicking the logo of the publication in our Media Section. We just launched our Market Reports section where readers can find the latest arrival numbers from US National Travel and Tourism Office, Market Reports from renowned researchers, tourism trends and editorials from our partners about market updates.”

La Cita’s core value, Business Is Personal, promotes the interaction of buyers, suppliers, market resources and media in a relaxed business environment. Its unique state-of-the art appointment scheduling system allows any delegate to schedule a meeting with any other, and its networking sessions help delegates continue business while enjoying carefully planned social functions.
