Loyal visitors season commences In Barbados
Fri February 14, 2020

The caribbean destination enjoys a high repeat visitor rate both for land-based and cruise passengers, who have made Barbados their home away from home over the years

Many of these guests visit Barbados every year, and some visit multiple times a year, often introducing their children and grandchildren to the island, who in turn make the island a second home.

In recognition of their loyalty, Barbados manage a Loyal Visitors Club of repeat guests who have visited the island twenty-five times or more. One of the principal elements of this programme is the Loyal Visitors Reception series, which is hosted during the winter tourist season, under the patronage of the Minister of Tourism and International Transport. This reception is an opportunity for the Government and people of Barbados to thank guests for their loyalty to the island, while recognizing those who have reached significant milestones such as 60 visits or 100 visits to the island.

The reception series commenced last month at Fustic House in St. Lucy. The Acting Minister of Tourism and International Transport, the Hon. Dwight Sutherland, honoured eight loyal visitors for their repeat visits and commended them for making Barbados their home away from home. These visitors were: Martin and Jennifer Lynch who visited the island over 40 times, and Edward McBride who had 37 visits, while Jim Stevenson and wife amassed 35 visits. Also, of note were Cheryl McLachlan, who had 30 visits, and Dr. Allan and Judith Larter, who just completed their 30th visit.
