Viva grows in the US market, from where it already offers 19 routes and registered a 56% increase in the number of passengers Mexico - USA in 2019 vs 2018, with more than half a million customers

Viva Aerobus, Mexico's ultra-low cost airline, continues to expand its service in Monterrey with the announcement of the new Monterrey - Orlando and Monterrey - San Antonio routes. The first will begin operations on June 20 with one flight per week (Saturday) and as of July 15, an additional frequency (Wednesday) is increased at prices starting at $ 99 on a single trip; meanwhile, the flight to San Antonio will start on June 26 with 2 frequencies (Monday and Friday) with a fare that starts at $ 149 single trip.

With these new flights, Viva Aerobus reaches a total of 6 routes to the United States from Monterrey, where it already flies to Chicago (season), Houston, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. With this, Viva reaffirms its commitment to the connectivity of one of its most important operational bases, being the airline with the largest number of routes to / from Monterrey International Airport with a total of 37.

Viva Aerobus increases its presence in the United States where it already operates 19 routes, thus serving the needs of more and more international travelers. In this sense, Viva registered a 56% increase in the number of passengers from / to the United States in 2019 compared to 2018, with more than half a million customers.

The opening of these routes is at a time of historical growth of Viva Aerobus in Nuevo León, as the airline today held a new record by reaching the figure of 200 thousand passengers transported on connecting flights. As part of this celebration, Viva Aerobus surprised the passenger 200 thousand, who was flying the Tampico - Monterrey - Chihuahua route, with a surprise gift and the delivery of a recognition by the Director General of Viva and the airport authorities.

The connection flight service via Monterrey began in October 2018 and allowed the Viva route network to be exponentially amplified.

From Terminal C, Viva effectively operates its more than 35 direct destinations and since 2018, it has boosted its national network, Monterrey being the headquarters of connections between different destinations and today we celebrate it together by receiving the 200,000th passenger in connection, ”said Ricardo Dueñas, Director General of OMA.

In 2019, Viva Aerobus inaugurated 6 new routes to / from Monterrey and currently operates, on average, 2,000 monthly flights to / from this city, with 3 out of 10 seats offered in this entity belonging to the airline.

As a result of this wide offer characterized by its low prices, the airline achieved an 18% growth in the number of passengers from / to the capital of Nuevo León in 2019 compared to 2018 by adding more than 4.2 million customers.

In order to improve the travel experience to this growing number of passengers, the airline informed that all the flights it offers in Monterrey, national and international, will take off or arrive at Terminal C, after having incorporated customs and migration services in This terminal. As part of these efforts to facilitate the flight process, the airline also announced that the web check in for international flights is already available from the Viva app and the official site.
