Argentina is promoted in Colombia with an eye on the Copa América
Minister Lammens will attend one of the largest tourist fairs in the region in Bogotá. The Cup will be played in Argentina and Colombia from June 12 to July 12
Argentina will be the protagonist of the 39th edition of the ANATO Tourist Showcase, which will be held in Bogotá from February 26 to 28. The event will be the first major tourist meeting in Latin America in which the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Matías Lammens, will be present, who will lead the national delegation together with the Secretary of Tourism Promotion of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Yanina Martínez, and the Executive Secretary of the National Tourism Promotion Institute (INPROTUR), Ricardo Sosa.
With an eye on the next Copa América football, along with other proposals, the country will seek to position its new tourist image in the region and increase arrivals of Colombian tourists, which were almost 170,000 in 2019.
“The countries of the region represent more than 80 percent of Argentine inbound tourism and the Colombian market is among the ten countries that most visited our country during 2019. Attending this fair, so important for Latin America, drives us to renew our offer and attract new travelers, ”said Lammens.
ANATO is the most important tourism fair in Colombia and one of the most important in the region. Around 40 thousand professionals in the sector, more than 35 countries, 3,500 exhibitors, 1,500 companies and one thousand accredited journalists meet at the International Business and Exhibition Center of Bogotá CORFERIAS.
Argentina will have a 162 square meter stand in which different work meetings will be held and cooking classes and training will be offered, among other activities.
The main focus will be on the promotion of the Copa América 2020, which will be played in Argentina and Colombia from June 12 to July 12. The Argentine headquarters will be the mythical Monumental of Buenos Aires, stadium of the inaugural match between Argentina and Chile, and the stadiums Ciudad de La Plata (Province of Buenos Aires), Malvinas Argentinas de Mendoza, Mario Alberto Kempes de Córdoba and the only one in Santiago del Estero, released for the Cup and with a capacity for 28 thousand spectators.
“With the Copa América we hope to receive tourists not only from the region, but also from the rest of the world because the tournament represents one of the most prestigious soccer events worldwide. It will be a great experience for all those who visit us, ”said Sosa.
Argentina will share Group A in the competition with Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Chile and guest Australia. The team led by Lionel Messi will seek to improve their third place in the 2019 Copa América.

The Nature product will be another of the greatest bets of the Argentine team. From the hand of the Iguazu Falls - declared as one of the New Seven Natural Wonders of the World - or the majesty of the glaciers in El Calafate, the country is endless spectacular landscapes to contemplate and enjoy.

Bariloche will be present in Bogotá to describe the multiple offers that stand out in this part of the Patagonia region.
The Argentine delegation will also be composed of representatives of Aerolineas Argentinas, Iguazú Turismo Municipal Entity (ITUREM), Mixed Tourism Promotion Entity of San Carlos de Bariloche (EMPROTUR), Secretary of State for Tourism of Santa Cruz, Tourism Entity of the City of Buenos Aires, Fueguino Tourism Institute (In.Fue.Tur.), Tourism Secretariat of the Municipality of Ushuaia, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Mendoza, Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Salta and private companies convened by the Argentine Chamber of Tourism (CAT).
