Royal Caribbean extends "Cruise with Confidence" cancellation policy
"Guests are reacting positively," said RCL Board President and CEO Richard Fain, "We allow them to make informed decisions and better manage complicated travel plans during this time of unprecedented uncertainty."
For new and existing reservations made before August 1, 2020, guests have the flexibility to cancel their cruise up to 48 hours before departure and receive a full cruise price credit to apply to a future cruise through April 2022. The cruise company has also enhanced the "Cruise with Confidence" cancellation policy with new reservation change options. Updates now available to travelers and their travel agents include:
Best Price Guarantee: Guests can choose to change the price and promotional offer of their reservation up to 48 hours before the cruise.
Change of reservation ("Lift and Shift"): For greater comfort and up to 48 hours before departure, travelers have the option of "Lift and Shift" or change the reservation of their cruise, with the same itinerary, to a future date . The original price and promotional offer of the reservation will be protected, along with the duration of the cruise and the category of the cabin.
"Guests are reacting positively to our" Cruise with Confidence "cancellation policy, said RCL Board Chairman and CEO Richard Fain," because it enables them to make informed decisions and better manage complicated travel plans during this time of unprecedented uncertainty. "
The "Cruise with Confidence" cancellation policy applies to both existing cruise bookings and bookings made before August 1, 2020. In addition to alleviating the concerns of guests who have booked a cruise, Fain says the Policy enhances consumer confidence in scheduling new reservations, knowing that last-minute travel adjustments will be allowed.
"We want our guests to feel like they can safely keep their existing cruise reservations or schedule new trips," Fain said, "because this policy gives them more freedom and flexibility."
The policy applies to all cruises with departure dates on or before April 2022 and on all global company brands: Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara.
