Buenos Aires is consolidated as a leader in MICE throughout the Americas
According to a new edition of the annual ranking prepared by ICCA, the Argentine capital leads the continent's ranking, since it retains it for the eleventh time
According to a new edition of the annual ranking prepared by the International Association of Congresses and Conventions (ICCA, for its acronym in English), the City ranked first in America, since it retains it for the eleventh time. This is due, among other factors, to the joint work carried out since 2008 at the country level in the Strategic Marketing Plan for Meetings Tourism.
In turn, Buenos Aires was at number 11 worldwide. It is worth noting that they occupy the first positions; Paris (237), Lisbon (190), Berlin (176), Barcelona (156), Madrid (154), Vienna (149), Singapore (148), London (143), Prague (138), Tokyo (131) and Buenos Aires (127), making it the only city in America that integrates the world top 20. Argentina ranked No. 18, with a total of 214 events. The most relevant development was that, for the first time, Argentina was the country that organized the most meetings in Latin America, positioning itself above Brazil, which had been at the top of the ICCA 2018 ranking at the regional level.
The City Tourism Board celebrates the news and ensures that meeting tourism generates a great impact that transcends that generated by other segments. The fact that Buenos Aires was the stage to develop such outstanding events as the G20, the International Transplant Congress, or Expo 2023, among others, has a direct impact on the positive image of the city.
Thanks to these events, the City advances in knowledge and remains at the forefront of various topics that are reflected in the development of its economic sectors.
