LATAM resumes operation with more commercial flexibility and sanitary measures
Wed May 20, 2020

In June, it expects to go from 5% to 9% of its total pre-crisis capacity, and in July it would reach 18%.

Following the drastic reduction in the operation of LATAM Airlines Group and its subsidiaries as a result of COVID-19, the group announces a gradual increase in its operations over the next two months. In June, it expects to go from 5% to 9% of its total pre-crisis capacity, and in July it would reach 18%. Likewise, LATAM knows that making decisions in this moment of uncertainty is complex, so it will incorporate greater flexibility for the purchase and scheduling of trips, rates that on average can be up to 20% cheaper, additional sanitary measures and advice to its clients. passengers to travel during the crisis.

During June, LATAM Airlines Brasil will fly four international routes: from São Paulo to Frankfurt, London, Madrid and Miami, while, from Santiago, LATAM Airlines Group will fly to Miami and São Paulo, a connection center through which customers can access these three destinations in Europe. By July, the group hopes to increase international destinations to 13.

Domestically, while LATAM Airlines Brazil will fly 74 routes, LATAM Airlines Chile will reach 12 destinations, retaking La Serena, Copiapó, Temuco and Easter Island. Likewise, the Ecuadorian subsidiary is working to restart its domestic flights in June and the Colombian and Peruvian subsidiaries in July, all to the extent that the authorities allow.

"With these measures, the LATAM group is responding to the connectivity needs of the countries where it operates and adapting the offer to the requirements of customers in this complex scenario," said Michael Rutter, Commercial Vice President of LATAM Group. And he added that “the group is increasing flights, destinations and frequencies and taking concrete measures that respond to the new economic reality that clients and their families will face, such as more accessible, more flexible passages, new sanitary measures and an assistance service for passengers during the trip. ”

Given the uncertainty caused by the health crisis, passengers will have more flexibility to buy tickets and schedule their trips, always subject to applicable local regulations.

Until July 31, 2020, passengers can voluntarily reschedule their tickets on Latam.com before the departure of their flight. The first change will be without penalty or rate difference (same destination, subject to cabin availability and validity of the ticket) and they can change the destination paying the rate difference if it exists.

If the passenger is not clear about the date they want to travel, they can leave their ticket open for 12 months, as long as they notify the airline through their website, at least 7 days in advance.

In the event that a flight is canceled or rescheduled, passengers may reschedule their tickets without penalty or fare difference (subject to cabin availability, same destination and validity of the ticket). If you want to change the destination, the rate difference will apply if it exists.
