Fitur 2021 is emerging as a key meeting for the recovery of the industry
IFEMA will guarantee compliance with the biosafety protocols necessary to make face-to-face reunion possible
In a context especially marked by the need for the recovery of the tourism industry, IFEMA is working on the next FITUR call, the great annual event for world tourism professionals, to be held from January 20 to 24 at the Madrid Fair, aligned with this reality and with the aim of creating an environment of trust and recovery for companies and destinations.
Not surprisingly, FITUR is the platform that inaugurates the international calendar of tourism fairs, allowing professionals to make first contact with this industry and establish the lines of work that will set the tone for the entire year. All this concentrated in five days of commercial and business activity that will focus on relocating the tourism offer, national and international, in a showcase of high visibility aimed at strengthening this essential sector for the growth of the economy, and show its future trends in terms of specialization, technology and sustainability.
The first step of IFEMA has been the analysis and certification of a series of measures in order to resume its activity and regain the strategic role of fairs and congresses, among which is FITUR. In this sense, the IFEMA fairground is already adopting all the protocols based on the criteria defined by the health authorities and the main international public and sector organizations, in order to offer spaces that guarantee the safety, control and preservation of the health of the different groups that take part in the fairs, as well as hygiene, quality and environmental safety of the facilities.
On the other hand, in the specific case of FITUR and with the vocation to contribute to the recovery of tourism by offering to mitigate the economic investment of the exhibitors, all the requests for participation received before July 31 will have a special bonus on the rates of the fair. https://www.ifema.es/fitur/expositores/que-necesitas
In the FITUR offer, as every year, there will be room for all the wide diversity of proposals on the current tourism scene; destinations, companies and specialized areas that will offer new trends, business niches and the forefront of this industry in the FITURTECHY, FITUR KNOW HOW & EXPORT, FITUR SCREEN, FITUR FESTIVALS, FITUR LGBT + and FITUR HEALTH spaces. Likewise, FITUR will continue to deepen the skills, talent and training of people to interact with the new digital tourist, in the space released last year by FITUR TALENT.
In terms of sustainability and with an eye to how tourism can be a driver of change based on cultural, social and environmental values, the FITURNEXT Observatory is already working on the identification and selection of good practices that contribute to conceiving positive tourism for the visitor, resident, destinations and planet, and with a high potential for replicability. This year with the challenge focused on analyzing how tourism can contribute to gender equality and the empowerment of women.
Also in its commitment to sustainability, FITUR, in collaboration with the Responsible Tourism Institute, ITR, will award, for the second consecutive year, the "SUSTAINABLE STAND" Award, in recognition of the efforts of exhibiting companies to make their presence at FITUR a space respectful with the environment and climate change, also contributing to favor social and cultural aspects, as well as reference to governance and economic issues.
FITUR is also working on its agenda of B2B meetings, both the general program, FITUR B2B Match, as well as those specialized in incentive tourism, meetings and business travel, FITUR MICE, and in the tourism offer of the African continent, MEET AFRICA, which offers tools of proven effectiveness to promote professional contact and commercial exchanges.
The contents of debate, knowledge and inspiration will also have their maximum reference in the program of conferences of each of the sections of the fair, as well as in the different activities, which each year bring together experts from the sector organized in collaboration with companies and Most innovative and representative entities on the international scene, among which are the World Tourism Organization, UNWTO; the Iberoamerican Conference of Tourism Ministers and Entrepreneurs, CIMET; INVESTOUR and the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
