Wed July 08, 2020

INPROTUR will gather prestigious tourism representatives from Spain and Portugal to expose how they reopened their borders while passing COVID-19

In an initiative to support the national tourism sector, from July 9 to August 11, INPROTUR brings together prestigious representatives of tourism from Spain and Portugal on the institutional YouTube channel INPROTUR - Argentina to tell how they reopened their borders while overcoming COVID -19. The Minister of Tourism and Sports, Matías Lammens, will be present at the inauguration on Thursday, July 9 at 3 pm.

The National Institute for Tourism Promotion (INPROTUR) continues to generate resources and proposals with the aim of achieving the best tourist position in Argentina in the world.

On this occasion, in order to understand how some countries reopened their borders and resumed tourism, INPROTUR proposes a cycle of virtual meetings called "The day after". Here, important hotel, gastronomic, aero-commercial representatives, tour operators and private and public entities, among others, from Spain and Portugal will share their experiences after crossing the peak of the pandemic.

The brand-new initiative, which has the collaboration of the Order of the Camino de Santiago Foundation, will take place from July 9 to August 11, every Tuesday and Thursday at 3 pm, on the INPROTUR YouTube channel - Argentina.

The Minister of Tourism and Sports, Matías Lammens, will attend the inauguration this Thursday with the presentation of Actions by the hotel industry to recover tourism, by Josep Brichs, Commercial Corporate Director of the Barceló Hotel Group for Latin America.

“These initiatives show us the importance of making efforts between different countries to mitigate the social and economic impacts of the pandemic. It is a great contribution for our sector to be able to receive the experience that tourism companies from two of the leading countries in inbound tourism are living, such as Spain and Portugal, in the stage of quarantine exit and easing of borders. The objective is to prepare ourselves with all the tools at our disposal to preserve employment, boost the sector and make tourism once again a great driver of the economy in the next stage, "says Lammens

For his part, the Executive Secretary of INPROTUR, Ricardo Sosa, describes that "" The day after "is a knowledge transfer program for municipalities, provinces, hotels, travel agents and national tourism guides. With these actions we provide very good testimonies and enhance the possibilities of Argentine tourism. "

Important launches have already passed, such as the digital campaign #viajadesdetucasa, the development of webinars or the Conjuncture Reports, among others. Far from stopping, INPROTUR bets for more and convenes the national trade to provide greater and better tools in search of hierarchizing its work.
