Colombia grants more resources for tourism
The government will inject $ 60,000 million of Colombian Pesos destined to small and medium-sized companies
The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, together with iNNpulsa Colombia, Fontur and Bancóldex, approved resources for about $ 60,000 million pesos to finance MSMEs in the tourism sector, one of the most affected by the economic crisis due to COVID -19. The announcement was made by the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism José Manuel Restrepo.
This special financing boost is given by adding additional resources to the credit line 'Colombia Emprende e Innova', with the creation of a special sub-quota that complements the quotas available for ICT companies and those led by women.
“Thanks to the alliance with Fontur, companies in the tourism sector will be able to access amounts of up to $ 200 million, a term of up to 3 years, and a grace period of up to 12 months, to finance working capital or costs and expenses associated with the implementation of biosecurity measures ”, highlighted Minister Restrepo.
The credits can be used for working capital, that is, for payroll and payment of debts to suppliers. Additionally, the costs and expenses associated with the implementation of biosecurity measures.
“This new sub-quota‘ Colombia Emprende e Innova - tourism sector ’seeks to give credits with special conditions to companies or MSMEs in the tourism sector. With this new support from the Government, it is expected that companies will be able to access these resources to oxygenate their businesses by providing liquidity, and thus preparing them for the reactivation phase, ”explained the Vice Minister of Tourism, Julián Guerrero Orozco.
The new quota aimed at the tourism sector can be accessed by tourism service providers, natural or legal persons considered as micro, small and medium-sized companies, who have the National Tourism Registry (RNT) in force at the time of submitting their application and certification issued by the legal representative, tax auditor or the National Tourism Fund (FONTUR).
They will also be bankable, tourist homes, lodgings, therapeutic centers, spas, hot springs, bars, restaurants, passenger air transport companies, and commercial establishments located in the land, air and sea passenger transport terminals.
In order to facilitate access to the resources offered in the credit line, the beneficiary companies will be able to make use of the guarantees established by the National Guarantee Fund, particularly those for the most affected sectors with 90% coverage of the Unidos por program. Colombia.
Entrepreneurs can apply for loans through banks, financial corporations, financing companies and financial cooperatives with available space in Bancóldex.
