Hoteliers from Argentina warn that the situation is critical
The Association of Tourism Hotels where they emphasize that the expectations of the sector are not encouraging
The AHT presented a survey carried out with the technical contribution of IERAL, on the strong impact that the pandemic had on the tourism industry of our country, whose results and the expectations of the sector are not encouraging.
The situation of the hotel industry is critical. While 50% of the establishments surveyed indicate that either they no longer have working capital (35%) or only have autonomy for 1 more month (15%), 46% evaluate bankruptcy or permanent closure as probable the current scenario.
Between March and June 2020, 74,000 jobs were lost in the industry, and the crisis has a direct impact on regional economies, some of them highly dependent on the tourism industry (it represents 10% of employment in certain provinces). This critical situation has its paradoxical reverse: 97% of the establishments declare that they have protocols to operate and do so safely if they were allowed to open.
