WTM London and Travel Forward will be exclusively virtual fairs
The face-to-face fairs were at ExCeL London from 2 to 4 November; but due to travel restrictions, they will take place from November 9 to 11 in an online format
WTM London and Travel Forward will take place in November and will be completely virtual. The face-to-face fairs were scheduled to take place at ExCeL London (2-4 November 2020); however, due to the maintenance of travel restrictions, the imposition of quarantine requirements and local isolations throughout Europe, our events will be completely virtual experiences.
Simon Press, Senior Director of WTM London, said: "Unfortunately this year will be the first time since we launched WTM London in 1980 that there will be no face-to-face event."
"We are working tirelessly to organize a physical fair but, due to the increasing number of travel restrictions and uncertainty around the world, it will be unfeasible for many foreign visitors to attend in person."
“In addition, there is still uncertainty around the possibility of allowing the holding of conferences and business events in the UK. The official deadline for making this decision is October 1 ”.
"However, thousands of travel professionals from around the world will still be able to meet and do business in a wide variety of virtual sessions to help the industry recover, rebuild and innovate."
WTM Virtual will run from November 9-11, and will offer representatives the opportunity to schedule one-on-one virtual meetings to conduct business, attend conferences and panel discussions, participate in speed networking sessions and much more.
The virtual fair will also feature an investment summit in partnership with ITIC –International Tourism & Investment Conference– and a new Marketing Forum and masterclasses workshop in collaboration with The Five Percent.
WTM Virtual will have four virtual auditoriums that will host webinars and debates, including Responsible Tourism.
In addition, a virtual version of Travel Forward is being created that will bring together virtual exposure, free virtual conference sessions and speed networking for startups to meet with investors.
With the theme “Resilience, Innovation, Reaction”, Travel Forward Virtual will adopt a technology-based approach to help the travel and tourism industry recover.
Richard Gayle, Travel Forward Events Manager, said, “Travel Forward is the event that embraces new concepts and innovative projects to inspire reps. This year, making Travel Forward virtually will allow us to connect even more with international travel technology companies that want to promote themselves in the world ”.
"We are confident that Travel Forward Virtual will offer representatives all the support and ideas on the recovery of the industry and more solutions to overcome the biggest challenges facing the travel and tourism industry."
