Casa de Campo started its first virtual internship program
The internship program will last approximately three months and involves a series of bebinars for UNIBE students
Casa de Campo® Resort & Villas began its first virtual internship program with students from the Tourism Direction & Management career at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) in the city of Santo Domingo on September 1.
The internship program will last approximately three months and entails a series of webinars that will be taught through the Zoom platform, twice a week, in 45-minute sections, by Daniel del Rosario, Banquet Manager and Ilanny Jiménez, director of groups and conventions of the resort.
The webinars, which will be accompanied by practical cases and real tasks, are oriented to the area of weddings and events.
Although Casa de Campo has been receiving interns from UNIBE at its facilities for approximately two years, this is the first time that this type of practice has been carried out in virtual mode.
In this way, Casa de Campo adjusts to the new normal and continues with its projects in the midst of the crisis generated by COVID-19.
“On the first day of the internship we showed the history and current events of the hotel to the students through Zoom, they are very excited to do their internship at CASA and we are happy to continue contributing to the development of university students, regardless of the limitations imposed by the current situation ”, expressed Rosario Velez, Director of Human Talent Management of Casa de Campo.
Before the pandemic, UNIBE students carried out internships at the hotel, which lasted from two weeks to three months, in different areas such as administration, finance, rooms, marketing and public relations.
This project is part of an agreement made by the resort with the Alta Casa de Estudios, in order for students interested in the tourism sector to acquire practical knowledge in an exemplary company such as Casa de Campo.
