Abaco Beach Resort reopening announced
The iconic Caribbean refuge will open its doors on November 1. It is worth remembering that the restort has obtained the Clean and Pristine Health and Safety certification granted by The Bahamas
The resort's reopening follows an extensive renovation and expansion of its collection of lodging options to 94 rooms, suites, and condo residences in the wake of Hurricane Dorian. The rooms have Wi-Fi, cable TV, wet bar, mini-refrigerator, safe, coffee maker, clock radio, hair dryer and private balcony. The resort's marina, affectionately known as "Boat Harbor," underwent a total rebuild of its 200 docks, including the installation of a new pedestal equipped with water, cable, upgrade to 480-volt electricity capacity, renovation of its helipad and an expanded service station.
Located in the historic Marsh Harbor tourist district, Abaco, guests can enjoy and discover some of the resort's latest amenities, dining experiences, and added outdoor and water activities.
Rooms, suites, and condominium residences reflect a fresh, reinvented, and clean look. Rustic furniture done in dark wood tones and a pearl white textured finish exudes serenity, relaxation and an airy aesthetic throughout. In addition to its unrivaled rooms, guests can enjoy expanded access to other new offerings at Abaco Beach Resort. The Great Room, an informal gathering place ideal for intimate celebrations, relaxation and an "astonishing panoramic view of the sea." The Bistro offers casual dining with indoor and outdoor terrace seating with panoramic views of the beach and ocean. Pool Bar and Terrace at Marinaville is a relaxed yet elegant outdoor experience featuring Al Fresco-style dining with unobstructed views of the large marina, helipad, and neighboring outer keys.
The Marquee has nearly 558 square feet of space overlooking the marina, is paneled in sliding glass with French door entrances and is air-conditioned, plus a state-of-the-art sound system. The space can be divided into sections of approximately 279 square meters. Beneath the decks, an event space measuring about 235 square feet overlooking the resort's garden pool and the Abaco Sea, features sliding glass doors that can be opened to access a large patio for pre-events or later. On the recently expanded private beach, there are new water sports equipment and activities for guests who wish to kayak, paddle, snorkel and fish.
Prior to opening on November 1, the resort has earned The Bahamas Clean and Pristine Health and Safety Certification. This designation demonstrates that the resort has met the highest security protocols and is ready to welcome vacationers. Visitors to the island can also be assured that national and local government agencies have activated their safety programs in key tourist districts and essential island services, including medical offices, pharmacy, food stores, boat repair and public services are available. Major airlines are also expected to resume commercial service to the island prior to opening, including American Airlines, SilverAirways, BahamasAir.
