Dominican President announces plan for Puerto Plata, Sosúa and Cabarete
Luis Abinader made a weekend tour of the region where he started the construction of several works and met with businessmen from the tourism sector
During the meeting with businessmen from the tourism sector, the president declared that in a month they will have a recovery plan ready for Sosúa,
Cabarete and Puerto Plata, which will be developed in consensus with the different areas of the tourism sector.
On his side, the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, said that the government does not turn its back on the problems of the country or that province.
On Saturday, the president advanced other initiatives for the reactivation of tourism and inaugurated the national reforestation plan, in addition to announcing several constructions in the port of the Bay of said province, which will allow to renew and promote the entire area and create new sources of jobs.
While on Sunday, President Abinader carried out the first piezo for the construction of three surveillance and security towers of the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR), the renovation of the accesses to the beaches and an LED lighting project of the Cabarete - Puerto highway section Silver, to guarantee greater security to tourists and residents of Sosúa and Cabarete
Among these promised infrastructures are a new cargo and cruise dock, as well as a dock for fishermen.
During his tour of Puerto Plata, President Luis Abinader announced that the Taíno Bay cruise terminal in that city will begin to receive the first tourists in April of next year.
