Argentina obtains the Safe travels seal from the WTTC
"We celebrate the initiative to provide tourists from all over the world with a travel experience focused on safety and quality of service throughout the value chain" said the Minister of Tourism and Sports
The WTTC, a global body of the private travel and tourism sector, awarded it the “Safe Travels” seal, which aims to contribute to the reopening process for the activity, in a responsible and safe manner.
Today, the stamp was formally delivered through a virtual meeting led by the Minister of Tourism and Sports of Argentina, Matías Lammens.
Also present were Ricardo Sosa, Executive Secretary of the National Institute for Tourism Promotion (INPROTUR); Gloria Guevara Manzo, President and CEO of the WTTC; Claudia Grynszspan, President of the Federal Council of Tourism (CFT); the Undersecretary of Quality, Accessibility and Sustainability of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Argentina, María Inés Albergucci, and Aldo Elías, President of the Argentine Chamber of Tourism (CAT).
“We celebrate the WTTC initiative to provide tourists from all over the world with a travel experience focused on safety and quality of service throughout the value chain. The more than 10 protocols developed by Argentina for tourism are a sample of the work articulated between the public and private sectors, as well as with the academic sector. Now, aligning them with the WTTC ‘Safe Travels’ seal reinforces the message we transmit: Argentina is open for business and ready to welcome travelers from all over the world, ”said Lammens.
For her part, Guevara Manzo assured that “Argentina is a great travel destination in Latin America, internationally recognized for its incredible natural scenery, its traditions and its authentic gastronomic culture, which is why it has stood out as an important pole of attraction for the. tourism in the region ”.
The seal was awarded to INPROTUR for which, being a public and national body, the distinction becomes one in favor of the entire Argentine Republic.
In this sense, Sosa indicated: “The awarding of the seal is the visible face of a series of efforts made both from our organization, and in connection with various business leaders in Argentina and abroad, and in direct cooperation with the Argentine provinces, to continue to position our country as a leading destination in South America ”.
"From INPROTUR we redouble the joint work with the CFT and CAT to grant the Safe Travels seal to Argentine destinations and companies that are developing and promoting responsibly," added Sosa in relation to INPROTUR's power to facilitate the distinction to provinces, destinations and companies that are aligned in their tourism development with the protocols developed by the National Ministry of Tourism and Sports together with the Institute of Tourism Quality (ICTA), the CAT and the CFT, which in turn are validated with the global protocols of the WTTC.
