Argentina reopens commercial aviation with restrictions
The National Government, through the Ministry of Transport, enabled the resumption of regular flights but tourism is not yet allowed
The National Government, through the Ministry of Transportation, enabled the resumption of transportation in regular passenger flights for domestic and international and the services of buses and long-distance trains through the implementation of safe protocols and procedures that will be agreed between the National Civil Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Regulation Commission and the provincial authorities, in line with the sanitary decisions of the Ministry of Health.
In this sense, the measure, which was announced by Ministers Meoni, Lammens, and Frederic seeks to resume the air sector but with the fundamental premise of taking care of health, avoiding the possibilities of contagion and expanding preventive health measures. In addition, the announcement was made by the head of the National Civil Aviation Administration, Paola Tamburelli; and the head of the National Transportation Regulation Commission, José Arteaga.
In this context, Lammens stressed: "It is a great step forward. Our teams have worked together with those of the Ministry of Transport to advance protocols that allow us to have tourism again when the health situation allows it.
And he added: "We formed an Interministerial Council for the progressive and responsible opening of tourism. We are working to have a season: it will be a different summer, with strict protocols."
In this regard, the Minister of Transportation of the Nation, Mario Meoni, affirmed that "in this first stage those who are authorized to use the services are the essential workers and those who must travel for health reasons and who require medical attention together with their companions."
“We are finishing making the corresponding resolutions to enable the frequencies from tomorrow if it is published in the Official Gazette for all types of transport and to be able to cover the Argentine territory. These frequencies will be covered according to the demand and the epidemiological possibilities because we have given the provincial authorities the authorization powers, as requested by the President, understanding that there is an absolutely federal perspective. We understand that everything is ready so that we can happily resume in Argentina the possibility of having connectivity ”, added Meoni.
It is important to note that users who use interjurisdictional transport services on regular passenger flights for domestic and international and bus and long-distance train services must require medical attention or possess the Unique Enabling Certificate for Circulation - Emergency Covid 19.
