The Virtual Fair ASONAHORES 2020 is announced
The event will be held from November 2 to 6 with the presence of the main companies of the Dominican Republic
The Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (ASONAHORES) announced the "Virtual Fair ASONAHORES 2020" that will promote the relaunch of the country's tourism sector and that will be held from November 2 to 6 in a semi-face-to-face way through the website Institution's website and with the support of the Ministry of Tourism.
President Paola Rainieri de Díaz affirmed that the entity has been updated from face-to-face to virtual to adapt and respond to the needs of the country and its economy.
"It will be five intense days, with the participation of important international and local actors who have much to share with us, being a novel way of learning and marketing the Dominican tourism product, in addition to creating internal synergies in the sector and relations with society" Rainieri de Díaz explained.
The activity will group the traditional activities that the entity carries out each year. One of these events is the Dominican Annual Travel Echange (DATE), the annual trade fair that brings together hoteliers and tourism service providers with tour operators and travel agents from our tourism markets.
Also the Commercial Exhibition that is organized to offer an opportunity for meeting and negotiations to suppliers of goods and services for the tourism sector and hoteliers (managers, maintenance directors, food and beverage directors and executive chefs).
In addition, the ASONAHORES Tourism Investment Forum, which is dedicated to analyzing investment opportunities in the Dominican tourism sector, strategies to attract new investments and trends in capital flows for tourism in the region and the world.
This year the “ASONAHORES Meetings” will also be part of the Virtual Fair ASONAHORES, it is the latest activity for the sector, created by the organization in 2019 as a space for continuous training for representatives and actors of the tourism sector, whose objective is promote work strategies between the public and private sectors.
Andrés Marranzini Grullón, Executive Vice President of ASONAHORES, explained that this virtual fair is part of the actions to contribute to the recovery of tourism activity, and offer a setting for dialogue, reflection on the present and future of tourism.
"The objective of this fair is to offer a totally interactive and dynamic content, allowing each participant to make business appointments with their respective type of client as well as to be part of the agenda where they will be developed relevant to know the new perspectives and plans that are they will be implementing in one of the most important and demanded sectors of the country ”, added Marranzini Gullón.
He stated that ASONAHORES have been developing strategies to reduce the effects caused by the Covid 19 pandemic in the tourism sector and strengthen the position of the Dominican Republic as the main destination in the Caribbean.

The program includes the delivery of awards to companies for their contribution to the development of the local tourism industry. Also, press conferences, workshops and training talks for the participants.
