The CPTQ announced the comprehensive strategy to position the state as one of the most emblematic tourist destinations


The Director General of the Tourism Promotion Council of Quintana Roo, Ing. Darío Flota Ocampo, participated this Wednesday in the panel “Mexico's Niche & Cultural Immersion Travel: early resilience and longer term outlook”, organized by the Consulate General of Mexico in New York, with the aim of presenting information of interest and first hand to luxury travel agencies and specialized tourism media about the reopening of tourist destinations in Mexico and Quintana Roo, as well as the experiences offered in the Mexican Caribbean for this important segment.
 
During his speech, Engineer Darío Flota Ocampo mentioned the reopening actions that have been successfully carried out in the Mexican Caribbean, as well as the strategies focused on this exclusive niche. He explained: "We are developing our marketing strategies, taking advantage of the available digital tools and platforms. A few months ago we launched the Mexican Caribbean campaign: The Best of Two Worlds, disseminated mainly on digital channels, which merges the natural beauties of our state and history. and culture of Mexico. In addition, today we announced the first digital edition of the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival, adapting to the conditions that exist at this time in order to stay in the minds of our visitors.
 
In all tourist destinations of the Mexican Caribbean, strict prevention and hygiene measures have been implemented, thanks to this, Quintana Roo has the Safe Travels seal, granted by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), and the Certification in Prevention and Protocols - developed by the State Secretary of Tourism, as well as a State Epidemiological Traffic Light, currently located in yellow.
 
During the virtual event, the panelists Christian Glauser, Vice President of Development and Acquisitions in Latin America and the Caribbean of Dream Hotel Group, Michelle Fridman, Secretary of Tourism of Yucatán, the moderator Noreen Ippolito, Senior Regional Vice President of iHeart Media participated. , as well as with the presence of Alejandro Ramos, Executive Director of the Mexico-United States Chamber of Commerce, Jorge Islas López, Consul General of Mexico in New York, Ignacio Cabrera, General Director of Tourism Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Relations, in addition members of the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce; luxury tourist industry in the area and specialized media, as well as consortia, tour operators and travel agencies; among other businessmen and professionals from the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area.
 
It should be noted that the Mexican Caribbean has direct flights to and from more than 35 cities in the United States, and for the period from November 2020 to January 2021 there is a 21% increase in the offer of available seats to Cancun compared to the same period from the previous year.
