Volaris receives the Safe Travels seal from the WTTC
Mon November 09, 2020

The protocols for the air sector were designed following the guidelines of the World Health Organization and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

The airline Volaris joined the list of companies that receive the Global Security Seal (Safe Travels Stamp), awarded by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC, for its acronym in English) and that will help to regain the confidence of the Travellers.

The WTTC, which represents the global private travel and tourism sector, designed the seal with the aim of contributing to the responsible and safe revival of tourism activity in the new normal.

Gloria Guevara Manzo, President and CEO of the WTTC, stated that the protocols for the air sector were designed by the World Travel and Tourism Council following the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Control and Prevention of Diseases (CDC), and are supported by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Enrique Beltranena, CEO and General Director of Volaris, stated that “we are deeply grateful for this recognition of the commitment and dedication of our operational personnel, crews and pilots, in strict compliance with the Biosafety Protocol to protect the health of our passengers. The seal will allow travelers to identify Volaris as a company that complies and effectively communicates the measures that will allow us to continue enjoying air travel to meet with family and friends ”.

The biosecurity measures applied by the airline since May 20, are aligned with the recommendations issued by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) .

It is important to note that it is the responsibility of the company that receives the Safe Travel Seal, to supervise the strict compliance with the protocols for the health care of visitors. The WTTC reserves the decision to remove the seal due to non-compliance with hygiene and sanitation protocols.
