Successful participation of Guatemala in WTM Virtual
The Central American country promoted its destinations at the international tourism fair with a view to reopening
Within the framework of the virtual tourism fair of World Travel Market, the general director of INGUAT, Mynor A. Cordón participated in a series of activities, ranging from a forum on how to regain the confidence of cruise tourists in the new normal post COVID-19, accompanied by the person in charge of the cruise segment, Melissa de Smith; They have also participated in the forum "How do new or growing companies in the tourism industry rethink travel today?"
He also held a meeting with the Head of Promotion, Claudia Alvarado, with directors of the Dominican Republic tourism office in London, Jo Johnson and Sabrina Cambiaso, in order to publicize the tourism products of our country and be in the portfolio of clients that allows them to promote the natural, cultural and tourist offer of Guatemala.
They have had a presence in the JetBlue forum, in order to learn how this airline works in Europe and its plans to expand its connecting destinations, such as markets that include Boston and New York to London and Paris.
In addition, they were part of the forum "Certificates and consumer choice", which addressed issues on identifying success stories, challenges and how certification can help tourism be more responsible.
A panel was also developed that included reflections on responsible tourism, within the framework of this year's WTM virtual fair and how to move forward to make tourism better for travelers and tourists, destinations and post-COVID-19 communities.
Additionally, the Head of Promotion, Claudia Alvarado held a meeting with the directors of tourism of Spain in London, to whom the tourist offer of Guatemala was presented, so that they could include the country in their client portfolio.
